Since our founding in 2003, our goal has been to make the world a nicer place to age, one Twilight Wish at a time. A Twilight Wish granted recognizes seniors for all that they have done throughout their lives and shows them they are appreciated and of value to society. Wishes can connect a senior to many things: a lost passion such as getting their book published; people they haven’t seen in years such as siblings separated for over ten years being reunited in their 90s; and rediscovering their purpose in life such as returning to the classroom to read to students one more time. Every wish we grant is helping to build a culture that values and respects our senior population.
At Southside Senior Enrichment Council, we are dedicated to creating a community where every older adult can thrive. Through collaborative initiatives, educational programs, and advocacy efforts, we work to eliminate barriers, enhance quality of life, and ensure that seniors have access to the support and resources they need to age with dignity, connection, and opportunity.

Cross the Line Foundation is a not for profit organization that supports Veterans from all branches of service by raising awareness of Veteran related issues and causes and to partner with other Veteran organizations which raise awareness for similar issues. Cross the Line raises funds which are allocated directly to agencies that assist Veterans with cognitive counseling, housing, employment, healthcare, and research.
Cross the Line vision is to become a direct link to resources that will assist Veterans with their reintegration from service, while continuing to raise awareness to issues affecting those who served.
In 2003, Jane Hart heeded God’s call to establish a ministry to help underserved seniors in the Jacksonville, Florida area.
Volunteering in nursing homes, Jane saw a need for in-home care that would keep seniors from entering nursing homes prematurely. Seniors who had no family and no friends had nowhere to turn for companionship and simple tasks. Jane trained a network of volunteers to visit with clients. Over the years, services have been added to meet community need. In 2005, we built our first wheelchair ramp. In 2016, after the dissolution of another organization, we launched The Hart Fund with help from the Jim Moran Foundation. The Hart Fund helps offers a bridge of support to seniors experience a hardship. Through The Hart Fund, we are able to meet tangible needs like repairing plumbing, sending groceries, or paying an electric bill. In 2019, with a gift from THE PLAYERS, we launched the Transportation Program to help seniors access medical care and groceries.
